On 19th June, 2024, the Ghanaian-German Economic Association (GGEA) held one of its staple business forums dubbed “CEOs Time With the Ambassador and the Minister”.
This year’s event which was held at the Lancaster Accra Hotel was honored with attendance by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, HE Daniel Krull, who gave updates on some activities of the embassy in the coming weeks that are geared towards expanding the frontiers of businesses and trade between Ghana and Germany.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry were ably represented by Mr. Kofi Addo, Chief Industrial Promotions Officer and Mrs. Diana Afriyie Addo, Head, Business Regulatory Reforms Programme.
Mr. Kofi Addo, informed the CEOs and captains of industry from both German and Ghanaian companies as well as other private sector entities gathered at the event about governments awareness about the difficulties facing businesses and gave reassurances of committed steps the government is taking to bring stability and ease into the business environments.
Mrs. Diana Afriyie Addo also updated participants about the efforts of government and the ministry to bridge the gap between policy makers and the private sector players through the Business Regulatory Reforms (BRR) platform and efforts to get a bill passed to establish a Commission to see to its full implementation.
The forum which was designed to be a networking platform and a forum for participants to discuss issues confronting them and more importantly explore opportunities to proffer solutions, was very successful as members got satisfactory responses and useful information and assistance from the resourceful duo from the Ministry.
The Chairman of the event Dr. Macdonald Vasnani, CEO of Consolidated Ag Ltd (Conship Ghana) who doubles as a Board Member of the GGEA was excited that the event successfully created a useful platform for interactions, sharing of ideas and concerns amongst members and also transmitted positive and confident message to foreign investors and the business community that a dialogue and a conduit exists in Ghana for private sector operators and government to interface to create a conducive business environment.
