Awake donates to Cardio Centre

Awake Purified Drinking Water has donated a cheque for GH¢120,000 to the Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital as part of its corporate social responsibility.

The donation was preceded by the formation of a human charity chain involving thousands of people and spearheaded by the company. The Managing Director of Kasapreko  Company Limited, manufacturers of Awake Puri fied Drinking Water, Mr. Richard Adjei, said: “Since our ability to make a real impact depends on everyone who drinks Awake Water, we wanted to share this success with all the people who has trusted and supported us, that is why on this Valentine’s Day we have involved communities, friends, families and all people in Accra to be part of our donation to the Cardiothoracic Centre “.

He said Awake Purified Water’s “One4Life” project , which supports people living with various heart conditions, had so far supported 30 needy patients and also donated a total of GH¢470,000 to the Cardiothoracic Centre so far.

The Brands Manager for Soft Drinks and Water at Kasapreko Company Limited, Mr. Chris Addo-Sakordie, said the donation was a way of demonstrating to the country that their one pesewa contribution to the National Cardiothoracic Centre when they purchase a bottle of the water was being used for its intended purpose.

The Head of the Cardiothoracic Centre, Dr. Lawrence Sereboe, who received the cheque, expressed gratitude to the company for sustaining its commitment to the centre. He urged corporate bodies and individuals to support the centre to save more lives.

The GH¢120,000 donation which was made under the “One4Life” campaign was a follow-up on a similar contribution made in the last quarter of 2017.
