Doing Business in an Economically Challenged Environment
The Ghanaian economy is facing a lot of challenges and as a result, business operations have been negatively impacted. The Erratic Power Supply, Low Access to Credit, High Cost of Credit, the Cedi Depreciation and Competition from Imported Products are a few of the problems collapsing many businesses. The Ghanaian – German Economic Association, representing over 100 companies in the country, knows that most businesses are struggling to survive but we still believe that, “when the going gets tough; only the tough get going”. The Government of Ghana has signed on to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout which aims at restoring debt sustainability and macroeconomic stability to foster a return to high growth and job creation while protecting social spending. Businesses in Ghana should also take an introspective examination of their operations to put in measures to ensure efficiency.
It is against this background that the GGEA, as part of its mission of supporting our members and the general business community, is organizing a business enhancement skills program dubbed “Doing Business in an Economically Challenged Environment”. The purpose of this programme is to assist participants to successfully craft and implement workable strategies and take decisions that will improve their efficiencies and maintain their productivity.
